Baby is here!
Dear techno sapiens,
You may remember that last month, I shared the results of a recent study suggesting that if you already have all boys or all girls, you’re more likely to have another child of that same sex. I was 33 weeks pregnant at the time, and I already have two boys at home.
Now, we all know a single counterexample does not prove a study’s findings wrong. We know that a sample size of one does not produce statistically significant results. We know not to read too much into personal experience when determining scientific accuracy.
That said, I do have a very important (and snuggly) contribution I’d like to make to the literature:
Baby is here, and it’s a…girl!
We’re still getting to know her, but here’s what we’ve noticed so far. She’s punctual (born on her due date). She’s efficient (born an hour after I arrived at the hospital). She likes to eat and sleep (except at night). And she’s the most adorable, perfect little statistical anomaly (and/or standard result of random chance) that ever was.
In all seriousness, we are so excited to welcome our newest little one into the world, and I’m so happy to share the news with all of you. I started Techno Sapiens after my first child was born, and now, as I welcome my third, I’m more grateful than ever to have you along for this ride with me.
Things will be quiet around here for the next few weeks as we settle into life as a family of five, but I promise I’ll be back in your inbox very soon.
Thank you so much for your support, sapiens.
See you soon,
❤️ Jackie
