"Exciting day at Techno Sapiens HQ! We’ve got a special joint post with Katelyn Jetelina of Your Local Epidemiologist. Have you ever worked on a group project and realized that the project was way better because of one of your group members? I have a particularly vivid memory of a fourth-grade effort that involved recreating the human digestive system out of household objects. I felt both relief and awe when an especially crafty group member acquired a garden-hose large intestine. Anyway, that’s how I felt working with Katelyn on this post. She managed to expertly whittle it down to the core ideas, without sacrificing any science or nuance, *and* to create some beautiful figures along with it. May we all have group members like Katelyn in our lives. Hope you enjoy it, sapiens!"
