Be greatful, surround yourself with good community, be other centred,...the ancient wisdom literature was onto something when it comes to what makes a great (happy) life!
So Finland is often called the happiest country in the world, how does that correlate to the factors you talk about in your article. Or is the definition of happiness different?
That is a great question! It looks like those happiness rankings are based on Gallup data, and specifically on a self-report question about people's life satisfaction. Here's how its described on the World Happiness Report website - "The rankings in Figure 2.1 of World Happiness Report 2024 use data from the Gallup World Poll surveys from 2021 to 2023. They are based on answers to the main life evaluation question asked in the poll. This is called the Cantril ladder: it asks respondents to think of a ladder, with the best possible life for them being a 10 and the worst possible life being a 0. They are then asked to rate their own current lives on that 0 to 10 scale. The rankings are from nationally representative samples for the years 2021-2023."
Ooh the idea of turning weekends into vacation is so simple and yet completely transformative!
I know! I loved that one too!!
