I am confused by your definition of authoritative parenting. Maybe it’s my age, but when I was a young mother authoritative parenting was not warm and loving but strict, no nonsense, father knows best, don’t talk back, because I said so with lots of physical punishment mixed in for good measure.
I think your description of the no nonsense father falls under the definition of authoritarian parenting rather than authoritative parenting. It's a shame the names sound so similar--confusing! (Psychologists aren't known for their branding--I say that as a psychologist, myself!).
Hi, I remember my first trip with my child was an 18 hour flight to Malaysia. She had never been to target but I thought, what could go wrong on an international flight with a 3 year old? 😂 as I got better at planning, I forgot less stuff and the trips got easier.

Thank you, I didn’t understand there was a difference.
I love this so much--we parents need reminders like this because the noise is so very... noisy.
“Warmth and Structure” parenting communicates much more clearly than “Authoratative” parenting.
